BRIEF DISCRIPTION OF THE DEPARTMENT
Dispensary section is currently headed by one medical personnel registered nurse Emily N .Nginyo, the section is tasked to give fist line and first aid treatment to students and staffs of the institute; this is to include consultation, diagnosis and dispensing of treatment. other services offered are counseling and psychosocial support ,the nurse also is the adviser of the administration on matters health especially the issues affecting the students ,the nurse is also the link between the institute and outside health facilities where referrals of the sick students is done mostly to Thika level five Hospital
FUTURE DEVELOPMENT
There is dire need to expand the dispensary to a more inclusive facility such as an institute clinic to include more personnel clinical officer/doctor, nurses, lab technicians’ social worker, vct counselor, and clinical counselor.
