Official Launch of the JITUME LAB by CS Information Communication & Digital Economy Hon. Eliud Owalo
Thika Technical Training institute staff and students welcomed the CS Information communication and Digital Economy Hon. Eliud Owalo for the official launch of the Jitume Digital Lab. The event was graced by a warm welcoming by the Insitute Board Chair Dr. Joseph Muguthu, the Principal Ms. Hannah Mburu together with the students and staff.
Jitume Digital Lab is a partnership project that inlvolves several stakeholders, Konza Technopolies been the main stakeholders of the project with the aim of “Digitizing the TVETS”. The other partners include; TVETA Kenya, ICT Authority and Ministry of ICT Kenya, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Education, INTEL, Lish AI Labs, LEAP just to mention a few. The project rolled out in TVETs was launched on December 6th 2022 and is one of the many to be implemented in TVETs.
The Jitume Digital Lab project aim is to equip the students with technological skills that will enable them access online jobs that will relate to specific fields like Artificial Intelligence (AI), Software Development, Cloud Computing, Blockchain Technlogies among others. The projects targets over 1 million digital jobs to the Kenyan market.
